THE_SHAPER 2

PAINT YOUR SOUND. LANE BY LANE.

An effect DAW inside your DAW.

LIMITED INTRODUCTION OFFER

IF YOU CAN IMAGINE IT, YOU CAN DRAW IT.

Why do I need THE_SHAPER 2?

Because the moves you hear in finished records — the filter opening into the drop, the chop on the pad, the reverb thrown on one snare — are the slowest thing to build in any DAW.

So I built an effect DAW inside your DAW. Eight effect lanes, one timeline, and a master bus to glue it all together. You draw when each one happens and how it moves, and it's done in seconds instead of an hour.

A SET OF COLOURS AND A BRUSH.

Every lane is an effect. You paint when it happens and how it moves — a chop on beat three, a sweep into the drop, a fall at the end of the bar. Draw it and it happens exactly there, perfectly in time.

Freehand, point by point, or stamp one of around 50 ready-made shapes. One AMOUNT knob decides whether it's a whisper or a slam.

THE SHAPE IS THE SOUND.

On GAIN the curve is volume. On FILTER it's how open. On PITCH it's semitones. You never translate numbers into music — you draw what you want to hear.

ELEVEN COLOURS. ONE BRUSH.

Every one of them would be a plugin on its own. The filter self-oscillates and plays as an instrument, the pitch shifter is granular with independent formants, the reverb is a real reverb, there are 14 flavours of drive — then a 3-band compressor, a DUCK and a limiter across the master.

Nothing here is a stripped-down version. And each colour can work on just the lows, mids or highs. Chop the top of a loop while the bass stays solid.

I USED TO JUST ACCEPT WHAT PLUGINS COULD DO.

For most of my career, that was the deal. If a plugin didn't do the thing I heard in my head, I built the workaround — five plugins, four automation lanes, an hour gone. Usually I'd just skip it, and the track stayed static.

And that's the part that actually costs you. The gap between an amateur and a professional record is rarely the sounds — it's the movement. None of it is hard. All of it is slow.

Then I became a developer and found out half of what I wanted was still technically impossible.

So I went and made it possible. Eight effect lanes and a master bus on top. Draw what each one does, and it happens exactly where you drew it, perfectly in time. I honestly wish I could show this to the producer I was a few years ago.

EIGHT LANES AND A MASTER BUS
Gain, pan, filter, reverb, pitch, slice, drive and mod on one timeline, in any order — then a 3-band compressor, a DUCK and a limiter across the whole thing.
PAINT IT, DON'T AUTOMATE IT
Sketch a curve and it locks to your track at zero latency. Wrong? Draw it again.
INSTANT RESULTS
Arrow through the preset library while your loop plays, or hit GENERATE for a fresh pattern in seconds. New presets land automatically on startup.
ONE MIX KNOB
Blend the whole plugin against your dry signal, from a touch of movement to complete destruction.
SAFE ON EVERYTHING
Zero latency, bit-clean when empty, every DAW on Mac and Windows. Every future update is free.

EIGHT VERSIONS. ONE KEY APART.

Save eight variations in one patch — barely-there in slot one, destroyed in slot eight — and switch between them with a MIDI note. Switches land on the next bar, always in time.

Your effects stop being a setting. They become something you play.

AS SUBTLE OR AS EXTREME AS YOU WANT.

A master section glues everything: a 3-band compressor, a DUCK that pumps from the grid or your actual kick, and a limiter for the spikes.

Then one MIX knob blends it all against your dry signal. Build it wild at 100%, pull it back to 60%, and it sits in the track.

DON'T WANT TO DRAW? DON'T.

Arrow through the presets while your loop plays and stop when something grabs you. The library keeps growing — I keep adding to it, and the new ones land in your plugin automatically the next time you open it.

Or hit GENERATE. It doesn't roll dice — it starts from patterns I actually built and varies them within musical bounds, so what comes out plays like music.

Keep the one that makes you look up. Then make it yours.

Frequently Asked Questions

THE_SHAPER 2 works with any music software hosting VST3, AAX, or AU plugins—like Ableton Live, Pro Tools, FL Studio, Logic, GarageBand, Cubase, and Reaper. Both Windows and macOS (including M1 and higher) are supported.

The first THE_SHAPER gave you six modes, one at a time. This one runs eight full effects at once and adds a master section, a preset library that keeps growing, a pattern generator and MIDI switching. Same idea — grown into an effect DAW inside your DAW.

No. You draw where something happens and what shape it moves in. That's it. There are no automation lanes anywhere.

Arrow through the preset library while your loop plays, or hit GENERATE for a fresh pattern in seconds. Keep it, tweak it, or generate again. The library isn't fixed either — I keep adding presets, and they download automatically when you start the plugin.

Trance gates, stutters, tape stops, filter sweeps, reverb throws, sidechain pump, falling 808s, glitches, lo-fi, wide panning — plus all the subtle movement that keeps a loop alive. Works on drums, vocals, synths or a whole mix.

Yes. The master row is a full bus chain — 3-band compressor, duck and limiter — and the MIX knob blends the whole plugin against your untouched input. An empty grid is bit-clean passthrough.

Zero — unless you switch on the limiter's lookahead yourself. It stays fully playable live.

VST3, AU and AAX on Mac (Apple Silicon native and Intel) and Windows. And as always, every future update is free.

I'm super confident you'll love THE_SHAPER 2, but if you discover it's not the perfect fit within 30 days of purchase, just reach out. I'll handle a smooth license transfer and give you a full refund—no hassle.
