Let’s solve the CONTENT FOLDER error

If THE INSTRUMENT 2 shows a “content folder not found” message, your initial download was probably incomplete or the archive wasn’t extracted correctly. Follow the five steps below - start to finish, it usually takes less than two minutes.

  1. Step 1: Re‑download the content archive manually

  2. Step 2: Locate your Phil Speiser Content folder

    • Open the Phil Speiser Control Center.
    • Click I MOVED THE CONTENT FOLDER at the bottom - the exact path appears on-screen on the bottom of the window.
  3. Step 3: Delete the broken folder

In that location, move the existing THE_INSTRUMENT 2 CONTENT folder to the Trash / Recycle Bin.
  4. Step 4: Extract the new archive

    • Windows: Right‑click the ZIP → Extract All…
    • macOS: Double‑click the ZIP to unpack it
A fresh THE_INSTRUMENT 2 CONTENT folder will appear in your Phil Speiser Content folder.
  5. Step 5: Restart your DAW

Load THE INSTRUMENT 2. The plug‑in should now open without any error messages.
